Just wanted to share that years ago I applied ginger topically to a stubborn Alopecia Areata bald spot that I had had for almost 2 years prior and it worked really fast to cure it (it was on the beard which has faster hair cycle so it’s probably why it was speedy), so just now I looked it up and it turns out that ginger is an anti-histamine which may explain part of it’s mechanism of action (ginger is also a JAK inhibitor similarly to the new drugs developed to treat AA so that’s what I attributed to its success at the time). I wrote about it back than here (https://resolvealopecia.wordpress.com/) if someone is interested. A few years after that I had another much smaller bald spot (which isn’t mentioned in my writing about it) which again didn’t resolve on its own and once again ginger application worked like magic on it. So if people want to try a natural antihistamine they should give it a try (I’m a fan)!

IF topical antihistamines shows some improvment then people taking them oraly for allergy should see some benefits to the hair? But I never saw any case study or just someone mentioning that his/her hair gets better because of using oral antihistamines. Same with melatonin, topical show some efficency but oral non?? You have any idea why is that? Also there is a one in vitro study (“Effect of levocetirizine hydrochloride on the growth of human
dermal papilla cells: a preliminary study”) showing that levocetirizine decrease PGD2 amount and synthase and PGD2 receptor. Also any thoughts on something what is called SABA gel? It is supposed to also help fight hair loss from inflammatory angle.
