About that L.reuteri probiotic I see some problem. Some pharmacologist once said to me that probiotics should be placed in the fridge and also capsule for probiotics should be made with “special” gastro-resistant sheath. Then I looked on the biogaia product and they said that the probiotics can be placed in room temperature and also I dont see any mention about capsule being gastro-resistant, so the bacteria can be destroy by our stomach acid then. Any thoughts on this? Plus while you were reaserching that strain did you find any type of fiber/food that this bacteria like? So maybe that would make probiotic + prebiotics more stronger combination.
Thank you for research/work and for responding in advance 🙂

There is a very bizarre mystery here. These are some ideas that most of us would agree with:

* Higher tissue levels of DHT result in higher levels of hair loss, for a given individual

* Higher serum levels of estrogen seem to at least partially reverse pattern baldness, as evidenced by male to female transition patients who often report significant or complete reversal of pattern baldness.

With that as our background, how can we make any sense of these two facts that you report:

1) “Young men who don’t suffer from hair loss have high testosterone and low estrogen.”

2) “Young men who are balding have low testosterone and high estrogen.”

Regarding the group in 1), doesn’t higher serum levels of DHT imply higher tissue levels? It would have been more useful for 1) and 2) to document the serum DHT levels between the two groups. How can lower estrogen be the cause of less hair loss?

Regarding the group in 2), this is the one that is stunning. The higher estrogen should be protective. The low serum testosterone implies lower serum DHT. How can that not be resulting in lower tissue DHT?

There is something subtle going on here, and it seems complex.

These are significant factors for a healthy scalp. We need to look at other pathways too eg PGD, epigenetics and an explanation for hairy men except the scalp, Chinese medicine eg fo-t i. and multi cultural studies not forgetting pueria mi r i. f c a from SE Asia. Japanese men tend to have a great head of hair…check Rice Water. A cure for hair loss also means the death of a billion dollar industry..watch you will be taken down rabbit holes……. Mi

Maybe it helped stave off the progression of my hair loss but it isn’t a miracle cure, or wasn’t for me.

There should be plenty of bacteria in this supplement to do *something* if the research translates to human models. I’ve also read some research that attributed most of the gain from this product to female mice, so there is a chance male hormones mitigate the beneficial effects of the strain somehow.

It’s very interesting, what do you think about that Rob? Is it worth to buy a grounding mat on my bedsheet?

Hey lily, I recommend you to use 100% essential oils on the scalp, because this helped me for my oily scalp and nose.

Hey Will, I had been using magnesium oil for leg hair better growth, and it worked. But, sadly, not so much in scalp hair.
