I’m really interesting in your free guide on how to supplement with zinc safely. But I can’t find link to it. There is
“You can access it here (my thanks to you for reading this far!).” and no link, could you give me access to this guide please?

All the best for you, thank you.

Based on your various symptoms, typical of PMS, I would recommend getting some Natural Progesterone at health natura. A lot of women thin out rapidly after menopause. It seems to be that ovulation induces production of progesterone which opposes estrogen and keeps the hair full and healthy. (Similar effect during pregnancy). Progesterone, along with more sun (vitamin D3 and other benefits needed for metabolic health), and regular protein to help the liver detoxify estrogen, should do wonders for your hair. Raw oysters like Rob mentions here are very helpful as well on a weekly basis.

I just turned 64 and unlike what seems like your primary audience, female… About 9 yrs post-menopause. My hair started thinning noticeably about 10 years ago and the pace increased dramatically in the past few years.

My search today about PSO and DHT led me to your site. Whenever I’ve tried any product, natural or otherwise, to promote hair growth, within a few days, I’m suffering from horrendous hot flashes. I just started a supplement for improved bladder control that contains PSO… and zinc, curiously enough… and wanted to confirm my memory that PSO is a DHT inhibitor. (BTW, hops is another problem for me re: hot flashes which makes me wonder if heavy beer drinkers might be hurting their hairline)

Bio-identical hormone creams have been a part of my life for around 12 years; I used OTC progesterone cream for more than a decade before that. Despite this supplementation, and nearly a decade post-menopause as I mentioned earlier, I’m still prone to hot flashes. Vitamin E helps somewhat but I don’t metabolize high dosages of the estro cream that also help.

So I’m curious about your perspective on what women in my circumstances. I know I’ve got genetics working against me, I’ve been on Armour Thyroid for 15 years (blood work indicates I could use more but it makes me hot all the time at higher dose), I’ve been dealing with CFS/ME and fibromyalgia for 30 years, and my life stress has been x-high for years (and I use stress reduction methods regularly).

I did sign-up for your email course and newsletter. Thank you for your research and writing

Thanks for all your work! I have read your book and see that you don’t mention anything about the kidneys not filtering waste properly and the lymphatic system being clogged especially in the head area causing hair loss. Are you familiar with Dr. Robert Morse and his teachings? He does advocate a fruit diet with some vegetables to change body chemistry to more alkaline and taking herbal supplements to get the lymph system healthy and get the kidneys filtering properly. He feels this has a direct effect on hair loss, being clogged up and lymph being stagnant. What are your thoughts on this subject? Is this something you are looking at, does this change or challenge any of your thoughts on hair loss?

Hey Kerrie,

Thanks for reaching out. Are you experiencing hair loss in addition to having borderline-deficient serum zinc levels? Are you hypothyroid? Do you have any other deficiencies? Some more information will help to determine next steps.

Best,
Rob

I have just finished breastfeeding after 2 years so not sure if this is the problem. What would you recommend in terms of supplementing? My doctor is useless they told me to take a multivitamin and that it wasn’t a problem even though the range starts from 11 umol/L! Thank you
